Establish what is actually being sold
Liquidation describes a sales channel, not a condition grade. Clearance stock may be overstock, end-of-line merchandise, customer returns or mixed goods. Ask which applies to the specific listing. Check whether the price covers one pallet, a fixed batch, several pallets or an entire truckload. Never infer condition from the brand name alone.
Request a manifest and current photos
A useful manifest lists product types, quantities and, where available, model numbers and condition. Establish whether it is an exact inventory or an estimate. Compare it with current warehouse photographs. Sample photos or collages do not establish that every unit is present. Ask about missing accessories, damaged packaging, incomplete sets and substitutions.
Separate tested, untested and faulty goods
For electronics, tools and appliances, ask what testing was performed, by whom and on how many units. Untested is not another word for working. Identify repair costs and whether batteries, chargers or safety-critical parts are included. For clothing and beauty stock, check sizes, seals, batch information and expiry dates where relevant.
Check suitability for your resale market
Confirm plug types, voltage, product language and applicable safety documentation for your destination. Do not assume a UK-market appliance is suitable for EU resale, or the reverse. Brand labels in photographs are not independent proof of authenticity. Request supporting documentation and understand your responsibilities as the reseller before listing goods.
Confirm the commercial terms in writing
Before paying, obtain confirmation of the agreed contents, price, VAT treatment, dispatch arrangements and any return or claim procedure. Imported catalog availability is a snapshot, not a live reservation. Keep the manifest, invoice and photographs together so you can reconcile delivered goods against the agreed batch.
The single-pallet UK delivery estimate is £69. Multiple pallets and truckloads need a separate quote. Confirm current availability, contents, collection arrangements and VAT before committing to an order.
